Getting There
Option One
All flights into Northern Cyprus currently touch down in Turkey en route. The most popular carriers offering flights from Heathrow, Stanstead, Gatwick, Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast are Turkish Airlines (02077669320) and Cyprus Turkish Airlines (02079304851) and return fares start at £219.The large, international-standard Ercan airport is an approximate 30-minute drive from Bellapais. Taxi fares between Ercan airport and the property cost approximately £20 each way.
Option Two (preferred)
Since the “Yes” vote in April 2004 for amalgamation with the South, (North voted for reunification with a clear majority whilst the South rejected the proposal), it has become a cheaper option to travel directly from the UK into Larnaca airport (Southern Cyprus).Low cost airlines operate from Cardiff, Bristol, Birmingham and Manchester (www.XL.com , www.thomsonfly.com & www.cheapestflights.co.uk ). Airport transfers from Larnaca Airport to and from the villa can be arranged and cost approximately £70 return. This route entails a taxi journey across the border which is now fully open and has become the acceptable and normal mode of access to Northern Cyprus. The border is approximately 50 minutes away from Larnaca airport, and the villa a further 20 minutes from the border. The international community expects the lifting of the embargo on Northern Cyprus in the near future, which should result in the announcement of direct flights to and from Ercan airport.
Option Three
From your local airport to Paphos in South Cyprus, low cost airlines operate from Cardiff, Bristol, Birmingham & Manchester (XL, thomsonfly, cheapestflights as noted above). This however entails an approximate 2 hr. taxi journey to and from the villa at a cost of £100-£120 each way.

Getting around.
A private car is recommended for your stay in Northern Cyprus and is by far the best means of taking full advantage of the experiences and attractions that the island has to offer. Driving is, as per UK, on the left-hand side and should not therefore pose a problem. Car hire is readily available and costs from as little as £17 per day. |
